Veeam Backup & Replication Community Edition, which is effectively fully functional Veeam Backup & Replication Standard Edition limited to 10 Instances. For the former Free Edition functionality, Community Edition inherits the same licensing behavior, for example VeeamZIP backups or Quick Migration jobs will not be counted against the 10 Instances limit.

    Из прес релиза не понял – что-то изменилось в работе с ленточными библиотеками или нет? Очень хочется прямого бэкапа на ленту минуя диски или D2D устройства…

    • Backup and restore your NAS volumes to tape with native support for NDMP v4. Just like File to Tape jobs, there are no additional charges per protected data size, however access to this functionality requires the Enterprise Plus edition.
    • Added support for parallel processing for GFS media pools.
    • Added the ability to use daily media set with GFS media pool for incremental backups, and to specify exact start time for GFS tape backup jobs.
    • You can now define roles of additional tape libraries in the media pool: active for cross-library parallel processing, passive for failover when target library is offline or lacks available media.
    • Support for Write Once Read Many (WORM) tape media.
    • Tape lifespan metric is now automatically pick the least used media for backup.
    • Added the dedicated Tape Operator role to enable delegation of tape media and tape jobs management operations to help desk staff.
    • Added automatic ejection tapes from standalone drivers if full during the backup, or when the tape is no longer needed during the restore; as well as an option to automatically eject last tape in the job whether it is full or not.
    • Added the ability to order source objects processing for File to Tape and Backup to Tape jobs. For per-VM backup chains, the same processing order will be used as in the primary backup job.
    • You can now configure Backup to Tape jobs so that they do not wait for a new backup, and instead immediately start processing the latest available restore point.
    • File to Tape jobs now support file extensions and folder name masks for both inclusions and exclusions.
    • Restore from incremental file backup set can now only process files that were present in the folder at the time the particular backup set was created, instead of restoring all deleted files that were ever present in the folder.
    • File from Tape restore performance has been improved.

  4. File to Tape – говорит, что спева делается бэкап на диск в виде файла, а он потом забирается на ленту. Как и было раньше, а это немного не то…
